Braves third baseman Chipper Jones is in position for a sendoff All-Star Game in his final Major League season, and Rangers right-hander Yu Darvish is on pace to be pitching for his own manager, Ron Washington, next week in Kansas City.
Jones and Darvish are the two leaders by slim margins in the 2012 All-Star Game MLB.com Final Vote Sponsored by Firestone (#FinalVote), as of the 42-hour mark on Tuesday, not quite halfway through the 98-hour process to determine a 34th roster spot for the National and American League teams in the 83rd All-Star Game on July 10.
Fans picked up where they left off after breaking records across the board during balloting for the elected starters, casting a record-smashing 19.1 million online votes for the 10 candidates. That mark was 13.6 percent higher than last year through 42 hours.
With more than two days of online voting remaining until balloting closes at 4 p.m. ET on Thursday, both races are wide open as nine of the 10 candidates already have surpassed one million votes....

ATLANTA (AP) -- Braves third baseman Chipper Jones on Tuesday was named to replace Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp on the NL All-Star roster.
Jones had been a candidate to be voted onto the team by fans in baseball's Final Vote campaign. Instead, Jones, 40, is replacing Kemp, who is on the disabled list with a hamstring injury but plans to participate in the All-Star home run derby.
