The belly putter

I have been listening to people like Gary Player and other notables and most of them think that it should be outlawed. They feel anchoring it to your body takes out the nerves and nerves are one of the biggest factors in golf. Comment golfers..

And I am glad he brought it up. It seems to be a taboo subject on golf telecasts. Player did good, they shoud be banned and an asterisk be placed by the name of any Major winners who used one.

but I agree. Though I don't think they should retroactively add asterisks if they do ban belly putters. It is about what is against the rules at the time.

Though there will always be a mental asterisk to belly putters who won in my mind.

When I have an attack of "nerves" it generally manifests first in my belly. Maybe they should take away porta-potties instead.

Nerves? Those are an issue on every shot.

Putting comes from practice. No club ever invented helps you read a green or gives you a feel for distance.

Except, maybe, this one:
