Perhaps the only entity powerful enough to force owners to capitulate/bargain with the NFLRA is going to be the television networks, their sponsors, and their respective parent companies. Of course, this would have to be accompanied with a massive e-mail/phone/letter-writing campaign and millions of terminated cable subscriptions. But I think the message would be heard loud and clear.
Could you give up the NFL?
I think I could, in October for sure (MLB playoffs and NCAA).

(29,322 posts)I would have done it already.
The NFL is like a hard drug for me and plus Arizona has one of the greatest defenses in their franchise history. I don't know if I could.

(17,086 posts)I did see an idea that was directed at the NHL that might be effective, though. Boycott all NFL merchandise. If they see their sales take a quick nosedive, that might get their attention.

(59,305 posts)I gave college football the middle finger two years ago, I can do the same to the NFL, and this coming for a Seahawk fan. If this happened to the Hawks the stadium would've went batshit crazy, and I'd be cussing.

(10,893 posts)but for a different reason. The Raiders stink so I try my hardest not to watch them so my Sundays don't get ruined. But the problem is that my dad is such a fanatic that he makes so much noise about the game and I usually end up becoming curious about the score. Furthermore, it would take a whole bunch of viewers to quit watching in order to convince Goodell to strike a fair deal, anyway.
