Rachel Nichols Leaves ESPN for CNN and Turner Sports

http://www.tvmediainsights.com/2013/01/rachel-nichols-leaves-espn-for-cnn-and-turner-sports/#more-17606

Today, CNN and Turner Sports announced it has hired Rachel Nichols, best known for her sports reporting at ESPN for the past nine years.

Nichols’ first assignment will be for CNN covering next week’s Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans. She will also take part in reporting for Turner’s sports properties like the NBA and Major League Baseball.

OK as someone who works in the media - how did she get out of a non-compete clause in her contract?? Everyone here has to be off the air for at least a year before they can start with another competing network.

And I'm not the biggest fan of hers, so I'm OK she's gone. Her sing-song approach to everything is annoying beyond all heck!
