The West Virginia Mountaineers pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the college football season Saturday, beating then-No. 11 Oklahoma State 30-21 after entering the game as a nearly three-touchdown underdog.
As is expected in Morgantown, the fans went absolutely nuts after the victory. How nuts? Well, they reportedly started 10 fires and flipped a car....
West Virginia has a reputation for burning couches after big football games -- no matter the result -- and it got to the point where the student government released a PSA kindly urging students to stop, you know, setting furniture on fire.
The Mountaineers' next two games are against ranked opponents -- at Baylor and at home against Texas Tech -- so more destruction can be expected in Morgantown over the coming weeks. If you are a West Virginia resident, I would suggest finding a flame-retardant couch cover.
