because Auburn will give them a beating they haven't seen since... well, since the last time they played for the national Championship. I think THE Ohio State's only shot at a national championship is going to require an FSU win next weekend, and a Winston arrest before the BCS championship game.

Even with the arrest, who knows, the NCAA may decide that because he's out on bail and hasn't been to trial yet, that it wouldn't be fair to suspend him for a bowl, as long as he serves his suspension NEXT season.

If not for the luck of a few plays ...Auburn would be playing in the Buffalo Wild Wings bowl.

The difference is, auburn has been "getting lucky" against very good teams while Ohio State's entire conference has turned into what their former president Gee might call "the little sisters of the poor".

best measure of a team. If I recall correctly, you weren't all that big on teams that go undefeated by beating up on patsies, and Ohio State's schedule was extremely weak this year.

When coach Satan got the 1 second put back on the clock and sent the field goal team in, Auburn called timeout, put their kick returner in, and called a return to the west side of the field. The coaches suspected the kicker might not have the leg to make it. That was simply great coaching and great execution. Coaching is a big part of a game, and Nick Satan simply got outcoached on that play. Anyway, the score was 28-28 and about to go into overtime. Who knows what would have happened then, but Auburn did not get lucky and pull victory from certain defeat.

Any college football analyst worth his salt will tell you that Top 5 teams playing a difficult schedule will often need a little luck in a game or two along the way to having a great season. Auburn didn't need any lucky plays to win 10 of their other games.

Auburn played well, and certainly didn't win the game because of "dumb luck", but I'm not sure the game would have turned out the same if the Alabama player had touched the ground a half second later and it went to OT. It was an AWFUL decision by Saban to kick (and although you have no way to confirm this, I was watching the game and did say this BEFORE the kick).

That's the ONLY way Alabama gets another shot at the BCS title. I don't think either of those things is going to happen, though. Ok St. may also have to lose too. I think that one is more likely than the other two.
