El Paso Chihuahuas grab first win at Southwest University Park

And finally the dam burst ... and finally the El Paso Chihuahuas flooded Southwest University Park with base hits.

And, finally, the El Paso Chihuahuas got a victory in their new ball park, in front of their new fans.

Sacramento scooted out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first but the Chihuahuas shrugged off the sluggish start and pounded out 18 hits to take a 12-3 win over the River Cats, the Triple-A club of the Oakland A's.

A new record crowd of 9,395 fans filled this beautiful, scenic new venue and stayed until the very end ... even in the eighth inning, with the Chihuahuas on cruise control, the seats were almost full....

And they are winning again tonight. Fresno (Giants) was just too good.
