(12,165 posts)I've been turned off by LeBron. I actually thought he was a good guy, as well as an obviously very talented player, before that.
That was unforgivable, though. Can you imagine Bill Russell pulling a stunt like that? Magic Johnson? Clyde Drexler? Michael Jordan? Hell, even Kobe Bryant?! Anybody.
No, nobody but the insufferable egotist LeBron James.

But the Spurs have been very very good at drafting and signing players who really fit their system. Getting Tony Parker at the end of round 1 and Manu Ginobli late in round 2 of the draft and seeing to trade for Leonard is just really great talent scouting.
Of course managing to get the 1st pick the year Tim Duncan entered the NBA and not over thinking things helped too.

(7,429 posts)Their team was put together similar to Miami's
Boris Diaw wasn't drafted by the Spurs
Belinilli wasn't drafted by the Spurs
Kawhi Leonard was a trade from Indiana
Danny Green came from a trade from Cleveland
Patty Mills was drafted by Portland
Chalmers, Wade & Haslem were all Miami products
Cole was drafted by the Bulls and sent directly to the Heat
Most of the guys on the Heat have been there because they are a family who works together. It's funny, the Heat have won more titles than the Spurs since 2006 - 3 to 2. Oh yeah and more Finals appearances. This is the first time ever that the Spurs have been to back to back Finals.
Good that the Spurs won, but stop with the stupid comparisons that mean nothing!!!
