Caroline Wozniacki and Rory McIlroy won on the same day

Just two months ago, Rory McIlroy and Caroline Wozniacki sent out invitations to their wedding, which was scheduled to take place in November. McIlroy got cold feet after the invitations went out, and shockingly broke off the engagement during a three-minute phone call days later. The couple had been together since 2011, and Wozniacki, who called the break-up a “shock,” went on to lose in the first round of the French Open.

Both McIlroy and Wozniacki are starting to move on — professionally, at least. A number of golf analysts, including NBC’s Johnny Miller, argued publicly that McIlroy’s relationship was keeping him from achieving greatness on the course. Wozniacki, meanwhile, slid from No. 1 before the couple started dating to outside the top-10. She hasn’t made a single Grand Slam final since the 2009 U.S. Open, and had not won a WTA event since October of 2013.

The split might have been the best thing for both of them. On Sunday, both McIlroy and Wozniacki raised trophies. McIlroy held off Sergio Garcia at Royal Liverpool to win his third career major (and earn his dad a huge payday).

In Istanbul, Wozniacki breezed past Roberta Vinci 6-1, 6-1 to win her first tournament of the year. Wozniacki, now ranked 15th, extended her streak of winning at least one WTA title every year since 2008.

Irish model Nadia Forde has called herself "the luckiest girl in the world" after surviving a motorway in which her car flipped six times.

Posting on her instagram account she said: "Hi just want to say Thanks a mill for all the lovely messages/txts/calls I've been getting!

..

Nadia, rumoured to be dating the Northern Irish golfer Rory McIlroy, was travelling from London to Manchester in her Fiat 500 Labarth sports car on Sunday afternoon when the motor spun out of control and flipped six times.

The 25-year-old emerged from the wreckage with just a bump on the head and was taken to hospital as a precaution before being released later the same day.
