Israel Gutierrez, a former columnist for The Miami Herald and one of the faces of ESPNs Around the Horn, has come out as gay (and engaged!) in an emotional blog entry posted on his website Friday.
Writes Gutierrez:
Im gay, which plenty of people, Im sure, have either deduced or just guessed as much over the years.
But this isnt me coming out. The truth is, Ive been out to friends and family for more than six years.
The reason Im tackling this now is, primarily, because Im getting married on September 12. And besides the fact that it would be annoying to tell my story every time someone sees my wedding ring, it just seemed like a natural time to get this out in the open.

but the last time that I had cable was in early 2014 and I wasn't watching ESPN too frequently. However, a homosexual correspondent could add some insight to ESPN programming.

Here's hoping that your Prince Charming will ring the doorbell tonight (or let it be an excuse to order some pizza for delivery).
