Left and Center Fielder collided chasing a fly ball. I don't know his name but the left fielder is still on the ground. Looks like a possible spinal cord injury.
Now their putting him on a backboard and strapping him down.
Man oh man the Left Fielder was knocked out cold, laying on his back, with blood streaming from his mouth.
Prayers. I don't even know his name. Sounds like Piscotti?

(24,853 posts)the way the blood instantly ran from his mouth, then my Wife reminded me there's no bleeding after the heart stops, not like that.

(24,853 posts)worsen. I know some spinal cord injuries involve swelling which further injures the spinal cord.
Damn that hurt to watch. When they replayed it I had to look away like I did the night Joe Theismann broke his leg.

(24,853 posts)his mouth. He was out cold.
I thought the poor Center Fielder was going to cry but it's HIS job to direct traffic out there and they were both converging on the ball.
I'm very glad he didn't get hurt worse than he did. It actually makes my night hearing he didn't.
