5. It still feels weird

not seeing him in a Mariners jersey anymore. But yeah, good for him. I also always liked him even though he used to play for a divisional foe. Maybe he'll want to become a hitting coach some day.

. . .it takes away from the fact that he may have one of the 5 best arms of any outfielder in history.

When he first came to the states, he gunned guys down regularly in the his first two seasons. Then his outfield assists dropped way down because nobody ran on him anymore. Powerful accurate arm and good instincts in the outfield.

He's played all three outfield positions since he came to MLB.

On top of all that, he used to give home run exhibitions in batting practice. We went to a White Sox game just to see him in (i think) his second season. He threw a ball from the right field power alley on 12 degree parabola right into the 3rd baseman's glove on a guy trying to go from first to third. The guy who was running (don't remember who, because i'm a Cubs guy) must have already been thinking twice because he stopped around 20 feet around 2nd and went back. If he had kept going he'd have been out by 15 or 20 feet.

The only other time i saw a throw like that in person was Cubs/Pirates and the guy who made the throw was Clemente.
