I'm strictly into boxing. However, last month The Ring magazine had put Rousey on its cover, with an article predicting that she would dominate women's boxing.

(74,797 posts)that Ali said about Joe were wrong, and in terrible taste. Some of the things that Joe would later say about Ali were wrong, and in terrible taste.
Joe's son, Marvis, told me a story that I love, although it is sad. Many years after their last fight, Joe and Marvis were in the same building as Ali. They could see Ali, sitting alone, in a hallway. A group of people, who were using Ali to raise funds, were off to the side, talking among themselves, ignoring The Champ.
Marvis noticed his father had started crying. "What's the matter, Pops?," he asked. And a very emotional Joe told him how it pained him to see Ali like that, and how he resented those who still sought to exploit him. He spoke of how much Ali had meant to so many people.
This was the point where Joe forgave Ali for the vicious things he said.

(17,131 posts)I guess she finally found her level of competition. Maybe we will have an "Ali-Frazier" rivalry develop.

(68,442 posts)She has had 12 freaking fights, and is now 11 - 1. That's not even a record we talk about with boxers, except maybe for the sure fire guys like Leonard when he went pro. But, we were talking about him when he was an amateur.
Maybe Tyson who by the time he fought 12 fights had blasted other large men into oblivion, but he still wasn't making big noise until way past 12 wins.
The nonsense about her beating Mayweather will all cease now.
