OAKLAND MAYOR WORKING ON NEW STADIUM DEAL FOR RAIDERS

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf is promising to get right to work with the Raiders and the NFL to come up with a good stadium for the team in the Bay Area.

This comes after NFL owners voted Tuesday to allow the St. Louis Rams and the San Diego Chargers to move to the Los Angeles area.

Raiders owner Mark Davis did not hide his disappointment over the deal falling through in Los Angeles.

Schaaf told ABC7 News she's going to give Davis a few days, but then she wants to get back to work on a new stadium proposal.

NFL vote means Raiders could be playing in Texas as soon as next season

Still up in the air is the future of the San Diego Chargers and the Oakland Raiders. The Chargers' future seems a little more clear-cut. The Chargers have two months to decide whether they want to move to Los Angeles for the 2016 season and one year to decide whether they will move there at all.

The bigger mystery is where the Raiders will play next season, and the possibilities are seemingly endless but may point to a choice between staying in Oakland or moving to San Antonio.

<snip>

In 2014, the Raiders met with San Antonio officials about a potential move. While many shrugged that off at the time, there is now a feeling that such a move is possible. According to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report, the Raiders have already secured land in the Austin/San Antonio area for a potential stadium. With the Alamodome already in place, this strongly suggests that the Raiders could be playing in Texas as soon as next season.

Cole presents the land in Texas as "leverage" against the city of Oakland. But if a new stadium can't be built in the Bay Area, then Texas seems likely to be the next destination for Raider Nation.

It was bad enough to move to LA the first time, but to mess with your base again, you will be in a world of hurt. JUST look at the Santa Clara 49ers...

The Raiders brand can be sold in Anywhere, USA.

If they find a way to stay in Oakland, great. If they move, so be it.

and I am counting on it. No San Antonio, No St. Louis, You are not getting the Raiders. Y'all hate the Raiders anyway... Maybe you should get the JETS, you know, a team you deserve.

If the Oakland Coliseum is not good enough anymore, and two teams are going to share one stadium in LA, how come the Niners can't share Levi's with the Raiders?

Personally, I think the Raiders should move to the newly-renovated California Memorial Stadium in Berkeley.

said he doesn't want to share Levi Stadium (for some odd reason), yet apparently would've been fine with sharing an L.A. stadium. He claims he wants and has tried hard to stay here, but I think he just wants out of the Bay.
