(5,997 posts)It's often thought about but I've never seen it actually done. NE didn't even try to tackle on the TD. Bradshaw thought for a second about downing it on the one, but couldn't bring himself to actually do it. I wonder what he was told to do?

Frankly, if you've decided not to score, why even hand the ball off? Having the QB take a knee is a much safer play - no handoff to muff. So I don't think it's all on Bradshaw - it's not the right play call if you don't want to get into the end zone (unless they really thought they needed another 5 yards or so for the FG).
