(4,286 posts)It shows that just pure length doesn't make a course difficult for modern players. Fox coverage of the US Open totally sucks for the third year in a row. Do we really have to listen to Joe Buck on every damn thing Fox televises? Of course there is the lady with the boob job and butt lift in a tight dress who knows nothing just to let us know it's Fox.

(38,456 posts)She made that announcement one night on the Golf Channel.
She actually can play though.

(4,286 posts)First I don't care for these new "designed to host the US Open" courses like Chambers Bay. Erin Hills is different but the length of some of the holes seemed artificial. The greens were nothing special because USGA was afraid to speed them up with the wind coming Sunday and they were soft from all the rain so they held every shot into them. It just have well have been the weekly {Insert the name of your favorite corporate sponsor here} Classic we see every weekend where everyone is under par and most of the contenders are people you've never heard of.
I think the USGA needs to step back and rethink what they are doing to what was once the greatest of the four majors. I think the Masters and the British Open are starting to separate themselves from the US Open.
