Speaking of the women, Halep beat Townsend but it was a lot closer than the score would imply. Townsend has potential.

(29,771 posts)Christina McHale is one of my favorites, hope she can continue to grow into a great player.

(6,418 posts)The other player I liked was Lepchenko. She was Dow 5-1 in the first and pulled out a win in two sets to get out of the qualifiers. Focused.
With all the top guys out this year we are seeing more depth and a lot of that is US talent.

(5,506 posts)Monica Seles is responsible for this annoying habit that so many female players adopted over the years. I hope she is forced to listen to that 24/7/365 in the afterlife.
There was a push a few years ago to ban players from the screaming. Was so happy at the prospect of not having to listen to this crap anymore. I never heard what happened to that. Anyone know?

(29,771 posts)and the other one that is horrible is the new momma, Victoria Azarenka. She's got the double sound thing going......I just mute the sound when she is playing. Ugh.

(56,177 posts)There was some rule passed about sound levels of grunting but it won't go into effect for five years I think, so we'll have to have the remote and mute button handy

(56,177 posts)Didn't read the story. She gave birth recently and it's too bad there's custody issues already.

(47,591 posts)And I'm gonna add "anymore" to that, because I probably had something to say about it back when Seles and Capriati were going at it. Now I just think it's funny.
