Awesome game? I thought so despite the low score. Perhaps the Saints just came out flat and stayed there, though I think the Cowboys are also gelling as a team. Dak Prescott had his mistakes, but I think he's playing the QB position with more poise and confidence than ever. The team dodged a few bullets -- dumb penalties and plays that repeatedly put the ball back into the hands of Brees. Credit the Dallas defense. They played well IMO. Thoughts?

(112,147 posts)The rest of their games are against relatively week teams so they have the upper hand against the Redskins to win their division. Once they are in the playoffs, then who knows.

(17,235 posts)Saints had an off night. They will be back to winning next week! How do I hate those cowboys! Let me count the ways!

I said, "You know, the game's in Dallas and the Cowboys' defense is underrated. They can probably hold the Saints to 27."
But 10????
That was impressive as hell! Jaylon Smith, Demarcus Lawrence and Leighton Vander Esch make for a wicked trio, and Vander Esch is just a rook. Even with the great Zeke, I don't expect the Cowboys to make it past a divisional game though.
I also have to say that I'm impressed by Brees in general. Look at his receiving corps. He has one legitimate Pro-Bowl WR in Michael Thomas, gets awfully thin after that. No strong TE either. Now, New Orleans does have the best one-two punch in the backfield of any NFL team in Kamara and Ingram (and Kamara has great hands, so that helps). But, overall, Brees puts up bigger numbers than he should -- when he's not facing the Dallas D.
