Kevin Durant had surgery to repair ruptured Achilles

Kevin Durant sustained a ruptured right Achilles tendon on Monday night during Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors, and has already undergone surgery to repair it.

Durant posted a post-surgery photo of himself on Instagram, giving everyone the lowdown on how he’s feeling after an injury that could change the trajectory of his career.

"SNIP.....

In the wake of the backlash against Raptors fans for celebrating the Kevin Durant injuryduring Game 5 of the Finals, one Toronto man wants to make things right. Hamzah Moin has raised thousands of dollars through a fundraising campaign to prove to Durant that Toronto Raptors fans truly feel bad about his injury. The goal of the campaign is to raise $25,000 for the Golden State Warriors player's charity that supports youth in need.

Moin told The Toronto Sun, "There was something in the air when he went down that didn’t feel right.  The fan reaction didn’t feel representative of true Raptors fans.  It’s not as much an apology as it is trying turn this into a positive."

(It is at $19,600 and I'm sure that is from the US too.)

It took no more than 24 hours for Moin to raise $2,700 for the Kevin Durant Charity Foundation. The contributions continue to rise, especially after Moin appeared on Newstalk 1010 this morning.  Moin claimed he "felt a momentum happening", and asserts that regardless of how much the campaign raises, it's simply a nice gesture.

According to The Toronto Sun, the campaign likely won't get as much international media coverage as the crowd celebrating Durant's Achilles injury, even though it deserves to, since "the truth is, no one around here was enjoying Durant being hurt."
