Blanco stellar at plate

Fans watch as San Francisco Giants' Brandon Crawford's two-run home run flies over their heads during the eighth inning of a baseball game against the Atlanta Braves in San Francisco...

Tyler Colvin welcomed himself to his new home crowd Monday night and threw his hat into the ring to be the everyday left fielder with a splash home run, a triple and three RBIs. On Wednesday, Gregor Blanco joined the race.

And when a Giant does something Willie Mays did not accomplish, as Blanco did on a hot afternoon that makes AT&T Park play like a bandbox, manager Bruce Bochy has to pay attention.

In a 10-4 victory against the Braves, Blanco stole three bases and scored three runs, which neither Mays nor Barry Bonds had done. Bonds' father, Bobby, was one of three San Francisco Giants to accomplish the feat. Kevin Mitchell and Darren Lewis are the others.

Blanco also hit a single for his third RBI of the year.
