owns all of the Firecracker Penstemon flowers. Any other hummingbird comes near those flowers and it’s a nasty chase scene. Beautiful bird, but very territorial. There’s like a thousand, red, horn shaped flowers, and no other hummingbirds are allowed to gather nectar. Sometimes that little bird sits in a tree watching and waiting…I can just barely see the little silhouette sitting there on a branch. So cute, but really greedy.

I have about six feeders out there but they always fight over the same one. Quite a display of aerial combat this evening in the rain
