Went ice fishing with my nephew 2 days ago - bald eagles stole every one of his fish

It was brutally cold but we went anyway.

While we were drilling the holes (with hand augers) we heard eagles - but couldn't see them.

When the first flag went up on my nephew's traps - 3 eagles appeared out of the trees and circled us only 30 feet off the ice.

When my nephew went to get the bait bucket after he iced his first fish - one of the eagles swooped down and took it!

And the 2 fish after that!

They were sneaky and silent - and pretty bold - flying within 20 feet of us.

My nephew went home cold and hungry - but the eagles got enough food to survive the night.

We had a portable ice shack and a heater.

And it was better than staying home all day...
