The slang term is Fish Hawk because they’re fish eaters. No forgiveness needed for asking! I’ll bet you have an Osprey or two in MI.

Some are tagged, not mine, but there are specialists in Montana who follow them.

I've not seen mine too much due to foliage (and of course due to 'early' geese.) They'll leave here around end of August/into Sept.

I don’t think she’s tagged. But, her nest in Hellgate canyon in hers!

They say she’s an old girl…and as you say, maybe the oldest. Waiting for her to come back each spring is a tradition in this house.

I don't believe I've ever seen one here. I've seen plenty of hawks and falcons (including a Peregrine pair that nested on the roof of our building in Grand Rapids, MI many moons ago.)

Thanks again!

at Flechers Flooding near Alpena. There were tons of dead trees sticking out of the water and the fishing was great. At least 5 or 6 Ospreys nesting then. I went back last year and all of the trees hard been removed. Saw Eagles but no Ospreys this time.

We're in Stewart County, pretty close to Land Between the Lakes.

You probably have gulls year round.
