a hot mess on defense (shut out by the Saints), and an offense that only targeted the best receiver in the game 5 times with on reception for 3 years.

Abominable. He's got to go. Marc Davis has got to pull the plug...probably should've have been hired in the first place as he failed miserably too in Denver in his only other head coaching stint.

We should've stuck with the coach last year who guided the team to the playoffs after after Gruden had to be fired and the horrific traffic accident/deaths caused by receiver Ruggs.

The two big changes this year are the best receiver in the game was added to what was a playoff team, and a new coach was hired.

We've now got one of the worst records in the league. He's just no up to the job.

11. Josh McDaniels comes out of the Belichick coaching tree

That tree stands in front of the Addams Family mansion. There are no leaves, no smaller branches, and what is there is dry and dead. Once they get fired from their HC gigs, many end up crawling back to Foxborough.

Let's go down the list, shall we?

Al Groh - Fired after 1 year as the Jets HC, went to coach at U of Virginia, now works as a football analyst
Romeo Crennel - Fired as a HC twice, last served as an Interim HC for the Texans in 2020
Eric Mangini - Fired by the Jets and Browns, now works as a football analyst.
Bill O'Brien - fired by the Texans after finishing 4-12 and mortgaging the team's future by trading multiple first round picks for a left tackle.
Brian Flores - fired by the Dolphins after 3 seasons and now is a defensive assistant for the Steelers
Matt Patricia - fired by the Lions and is now the offensive coordinator for the Patriots
Joe Judge - Fired by the Giants after 2 seasons, went back to New England as a offensive assistant

And
Josh McDaniels - Fired by Chiefs, returned to New England, was offered Colts job, then turned it down at the last minute, now the Raiders HC.

In an organizational hierarchy a person rises to positions until he/she reaches their level on incompetency. It's pretty apparent now McDaniels' level of competence is offensive coordinator and no higher.

Head coach is his level on incompetence.

BTW, Brian Flores was fired by the Dolphins AFTER he improved that team, his dispute was that the organization hinted that they wanted him to lose so as to get in the position for better draft choices. He sued I believe.

The Raiders might do well to look his way.
