Cal overcomes 17-6 deficit at start of 4th quarter to beat Stanford 27-20.

125th "Big Game" at Cal.
I heard it on the radio on my shopping trip.

A 21-point fourth quarter did it.

Joshua Karty kicked a 60-yard field goal on the final play, a Stanford record according to the radio announcers, as time ran down to zero, so no onside kick was possible

It's also the 40th anniversary of "The Play" in which the Stanford Band, confident that Stanford had won, walked onto the field, while Cal was making 5 laterals on a kick return, and scored a touchdown in the final seconds, Kevin Moen weaving through the band and running over the Stanford trombone player in the end zone.

yesterday and we happened to tune into the game on the way home. That 60 yarder was something. I enjoyed listening to them repeatedly reference the '82 game. I'm sure John Elway is still pissed off about that
