Why is Joe Namath in the NFL Hall of Fame, and Ken Anderson isn't?

2. Likability and great team bias of the 70s Hall of famers

The NFL Hall of fame is full of a ton of good players from great teams while leaving off great players from good teams.

The two Bengals Kenny's are a great example.

Kenny Riley was statistically better than the defensive backs from the Steelers, Raiders, and Cowboys era that he played in. But, the Bengals never won a Superbowl.

Kenny Anderson was statistically the best QB of his era...2 MVP, but did not win a Superbowl.

Unlike Dan Fouts, he never was an announcer rubbing elbows with voters for all those years.

Kenny Anderson had better stats than Bradshaw, Stabler, staubach, but not the great team results.

It is the great weakness of the NFL HOF. Players who belong in the hall of very good who happened to be on great teams that won multiple Superbowl while leaving out players who did not win super bowls like the Kenny's.
