But if the Vols had lost that game, I don't think Jones would still be head coach today.

Nick Saban has sure seen a lot of coaches come and go.

That is, until you said you liked Butch Jones! With a name like "dawg", though, surely you're all Red and Black!

They won 11 games last year and have experienced players. They adopted a college basketball strategy by running the playclock down therefore lowering the total number of possessions. Their D also made open field tackles all night, most Mid Majors majors miss those.

They dominated the line of scrimmage and possession if it wasn't for a few fluke players and a freshman kicker ASU would've won.

I would have preferred we played better. Special teams cost us a 10 point swing (missed FG, gave up the TD on kickoff return) and we were -1 in turnover margin. That said, to beat a good team like North Carolina with a "B" game bodes well for the season!!

I was out of my head psyched to see Chubb back to last season's form! And for him to clinch it with a long run, I was just beside myself! Eason just has the "it" factor apparently and Herrien looked blazing fast. We're loaded for the future!

The whole team looked better. Did you notice that we didn't have any of those annoying situations where we burned timeouts getting lined up? I think we've found ourselves the right coach.

There were definitely moments of concern, but in retrospect I'm more confident now than during the game. We had Sony Michel and Elijah Holyfield still out, and over 50% of our freshmen on the field at various times. The offense is still being installed. And NCarolina is usually scoring 40pts per game, they're a good team that will challenge Clemson or maybe Fl st for ACC title.

Kicking is scary. I think our guy mr Ham is a walk on? Can't remember. Special teams has to be worked out for sure.

The big thing to me is seeing full play the whole game whether ahead or behind. The confidence and belief seems to be back. Eason did great, a very competent job for a true freshman. Months ago he was in high school. And another totally new guy Herrien? That guy played great.

Coach Smart is the real deal, not just in the sense of technical skill, he has an attention to detail that is refreshing. It will take some time but the improvement is for real.

Hehe ok Rocky Top: my mom is Vol so not only do i have to like Vols, but since like all moms she can see thru me it has to be real! To her credit, she becomes a full on dawg fan when UGA plays TN. Dawgs must crush them every year regardless.

That team is an embarrassment to the SEC and to the state of Louisiana.

Announcers were swooning over the new Defensive Coordinator at the beginning of the game, said he has "a great football mind." The man is an idiot. That is the worst defense LSU has put on the field in fifty years.

And they have no quarterback, of course. Les Miles would not know what to do with a good quarterback if he had one, but not to worry, he'll never have a good one.
