Sorry to piss on your thread there, shenmue, but Malcom Glazer symbolised everything that's wrong with capitalism and modern commercial sports to me.
The Glazers "bought" an extremely succesful, well-run, debt-free and respected sports club by saddling it with the hundreds of millions of pounds of debt needed to finance the takeover (i.e. a "leveraged" purchase). They had no love of the sport and no interest in investing in the club or its community.
All they were are parasites who have leached hundreds of millions of pounds out the club that should have been reinvested in the club's future and saddled it with an enormous debt load. Its future is at risk because of them.
It's quite literally true to say that any success United achieved after the Glazers' takeover was in spite of them, not because of them.
Listening to ESPN sports radio by chance one time, I heard somebody say (about the Glazer's critics), "why aren't they grateful for all the titles they got them?". I nearly drove off the road.
Parasites, no more, no less. They only take from others' work and add no value whatsoever, and they have no redeeming value as people.
And I'm not even a Manchester United fan.
