The effort to overturn Roe v. Wade and criminalize abortion has spiraled into challenging not only womens right to abortion, but a womens right to carry her baby to term. Across the country, women who seek medical help for pregnancy complications are being met with incarceration and outrageous sentences, all without proper representation. According to this weeks guest, if a woman would like to give birth in America, she needs to be prepared to surrender her basic liberties.
Here to discuss the fight for womens pregnancy rights is Lynn M. Paltrow, founder of National Advocates for Pregnant Women (NAPW), a nonprofit civil rights group that advocates for pregnant and parenting women. Paltrow has also served as a senior staff attorney at the ACLUs Reproductive Freedom Project, as Director of Special Litigation at the Center of Reproductive Law and Policy and as Vice President for Public Affairs for Planned Parenthood of New York City. Paltrow has not only done extensive work in challenging the restrictions placed on the right to choose abortion, but also fights the prosecution and punishment of pregnant women seeking to continue their pregnancies to term.

(33,982 posts)The right to eliminate/prevent it, AND the right to create it.
My wife and I had to sign so many fucking consent/waivers for an IVF cycle, it made me furious. Clearly Seattle Reproductive was trying to insulate itself from criminal prosecution, for creating, and then if not needed or not developing properly, destroying fertilized ovums.
Stack of paperwork, and that's here in solid-blue left Washington State.
There are religious campaigns to 'save' all the frozen, fertilized ovums. No shit. They want to criminalize it just like they want to criminalize abortion.
They call 'rescued' (donated) ovums 'snowflake kids'. You can't make this shit up.

(18,312 posts)as one oh so very kumbayah poster told you not too long ago, You're JUST a sperm donor, so you really don't understand many of the nuances of parenthood.
I'm sure she meant that in the most uplifting, positive way possible. Or maybe she was just being a nasty ass and reminding you of your (insignificant) place. I mean, we can't all be perfect.
