(48,181 posts)It would have been so disappointing otherwise.
This image, he said, should inspire all believers to make a commitment to defend the vital and energizing vocation of marriage and to protect the sacred union that God willed for men and women.
You do understand that he is re-affirming the RCC's opposition to LGBT equality, specifically to the legalization of same sex marriage. That is not a question. That is a statement of fact.
The question is why are you defending this?
As far as the subjugation of women is concerned, any institution that opposes access to birth control is an institution that is promoting the subjugation of women. But you do understand that too. So again, why are you defending this misogynistic crap?

Lordquinton
(7,886 posts)like how some see it as a support of women, and miss that he's saying, in effect, that gay marrige is causing men to beat their wives.
Sin introduces all that into god's creation of the covenant between men and women.
Breakdown in marriage hurts kids, so gay marriage is bad for kids.
I'm taking this in context with everything he has said about marriage, which has nothing to do with divorce or the like, and everything to do with gay marriage being against god's will.
It's plain as day to anyone.
