Pastafarian will lose license if caught driving without colander on his head

Andrei Filin recently became the first person in Russia allowed to wear a colander on his head in his driver’s license photo after insisting the headgear is part of his religion. Filin, you see, is a Pastafarian.
If you’re unfamiliar with The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, congratulations, your life is far better than mine. It is a religion that sprung from the debate over whether or not intelligent design should be taught in public schools in the U.S. The entire point was to show the absurdity of teaching something in a science class with no scientific proof or basis. Somehow a full-blown religion, in which its sole purpose appears to be to mock other religions, was born.
One of the tenets of the religion involves wearing a colander on your head. Occasionally, a Pastafarian will insist on wearing one for their driver’s license photo. It’s kind of a dick move, because it really just ends up being a huge headache for the people working at whatever horrible government facility you have to go to for your license. Filin, after much debate, was allowed to wear a colander for his pic, although he couldn’t even commit to that because it’s just a knit hat that sort of looks like a colander. Here he is celebrating his pointless triumph.'

There is one catch, though: If Filin is ever pulled over and isn’t wearing the headpiece, he will lose his license. Which is fair. If you’re going to ruin everyone’s day by claiming you must wear the stupid thing because your religion says so, then you should actually be forced to wear it.
