From the article:
As The Star-Spangled Banner blared before Notre Dames last home game of the season on Saturday (Nov. 10), students in six rows of the schools football stadium suddenly knelt in unison, joining a movement to protest racism and police brutality that has caused controversy for the past two years across professional and scholastic sports contests. Organizers said they estimated around 90 students participated, although the school newspaper reported at least 60.

(42,641 posts)It is necessary to reframe the issues.

(49,533 posts)And reframe for whom?
There is NO ONE on DU who doubts there are religious people doing good things. No one.
Yet you keep insinuating that you need to counter this horrible straw man of your creation.
It's disingenuous, harmful, and demonizes others.
You should behave more like the Christians you claim to admire.

(49,533 posts)So in order to support his fictional narrative that it's actually the liberals who have greater numbers, he has to invent a media conspiracy. Instead of reporting on the more common views of Christians being conservative, it's a media conspiracy to hide liberal viewpoints and by boldly posting on Democratic Underground that liberal Christians exist (to the enlightenment of absolutely no one here), he is battling those evil forces in the media. Somehow.

(146,288 posts)some fundamentalist Christians believe Roman Catholics to be tantamount to Satan worshipers. Actually, it's a surprising number who think that way. So, for some students at a Catholic University to protest in that way is not recognized as an act of faith.
It is impossible to lump Christians into any category. They disagree with themselves almost more than atheists disagree with them.
There is no logic in prejudice, nor in bigotry.
