A priest apologized for anti-LGBTQ diatribe. Here's what he and the bishop had to say.

..."The Diocese of Corpus Christi remains committed to the well-known moral principles, based on the natural law, concerning the human person and sexual relationships," according to the bishop's statement. "At the same time, we are also firmly committed to the proper respect for the dignity of each human person, so that true and fruitful dialogue can always be present in our community."

The compatibility of those two positions — condemnation of homosexuality and a respectful, fruitful dialogue with those condemned by the church — remains to be seen.

One local community activist, Aaron Davis, was offended by the bishop's reference to "natural law," pointing out that in 2000, more than 500 species from primates to worms were found to engage in homosexual activity. Davis also didn't consider Farfaglia's public statement a true apology.

"What the priest said was that he used the wrong words," Davis said. "What I'd like to ask him is what are the right words for expressing hate speech."

yeah 'natural law' just means 'bible told us so its true'. Voltaire2 Apr 2019 #1
But, wait...the Bible is metaphorical, right? MineralMan Apr 2019 #2
It is only metaphorical as a convenience. Voltaire2 Apr 2019 #3

Because quite obviously homosexual behavior is natural.
