Related: About this forumFavorite fictional Jesus figure
I am not a fan of Aslan from the Narnia novels, to obvious. I prefer Gandolf from the LOTR. Of course there is Jim Casy in The Grapes of Wrath, though the dialog is given to Tom Joad in the film. And there is John Carpenter in The Day the Earth Stood Still, always a favorite of mine. But for my money I like Luke Jackson. in Cool Hand Luke.
One rule for this thread, you can't name Jesus, to easy

(10,437 posts)While I'm not a lasers-and-aliens sci-fi fan, and much of his stuff has not dated well, this has to be Heinlein's most evocative and poignant creation - Valentine Michael Smith from Stranger in a Strange Land.
Not the most subtle analog to JC, but a good 'un.
Although I can't resist pointing out that Zoroaster (ca 7th-6th C BCE) and Mithras in the Roman mystery cult version (1st C BCE) are equally unsubtle and equally close analogs.

(6,996 posts)Terrence Malik's wonderful Tree Of Life is full of biblical and religious references. The son R.L. is revealed as the Jesus figure when it is he who can play a perfect duet with his father. A wonderful scene.
Also on my list is the daughter in "Proof".
The returning husband in Sommersby ( The
Return Of Martin Guerre).
Maureen Stapleton in Woody Allen's "Interiors".
