It's been pitch black by 4pm here in the northland. Yes, I know it's worse even further north.

This morning it was so dark at 7:09, yesterday's official sunrise time, that I wondered if the sun decided to sleep in on the solstice. Or maybe wasn't going to rise ever again. Gulp.

Now we are having a wild wind and rain storm. One storm door was nearly torn off its hinges...the door frame is damaged. 3" of rain yesterday, and we're closing in on 3" again today. Just relieved it wasn't 6 feet of snow all at once!

A windy night is a power night. We've got a lot of power blowing around tonight!

It's been cloudy and rainy for what seems like ever. Just a few minutes ago, coming in from settling Dahli and Polly in for the night, as I was headed to the house it switched from drizzle to a deluge of sleet. In the few seconds it took me to get to the house, everything turned from mushy brown to mushy white, lol.

At some point, I think by Monday, it's supposed to get sunny again. Along with back to normal well below freezing temps. Then back to warm and rainy by mid-late week...
