Are there any good progressive Catholic forums on the internet?
Other than this one of course!
I know there are good blogs but they just get comments.
I'm looking for a real forum to talk to others like myself who are going nutty from the direction the church has been taking in the last few years.

(7,414 posts)but I still found no forum.
I know there is a big fundie forum, "Catholic Answers" - that's the only one I have found to date.

(6,238 posts)I used to post there when I was interested in leaning about the Church, they were decent for learning about very basic doctrine, but the forums were as far right as Free Republic. It was horrible. I'll admit I still read from time to time to laugh at them. Seriously, if all Catholics were like the people on those forums I'd never set foot inside a Catholic church. Please, tell me you all are trying to take the Church back from the fundies like those on Catholic Answers. I'm not Catholic anymore, but it is still one of the better Christan sects in my mind, if only the hierarchy wasn't so far right these days.

(220 posts)I take pride in being banned several times at that forum. I often wondered how many potential Catholics were driven away by their insane rhetoric. They never met a Democrat they didn't hate. It would be great to find a Catholic Progressive forum.

(6,238 posts)One was harshly attacked for merely suggesting that perhaps women should be allowed into the priesthood, she was viciously attacked. I still have an account there, I'm thinking of posting in the "Other Religion" forums how it was partially people like them that led me to leave the Church and eventually embrace Buddhism. So,see, if I end up in hell, its their fault for being assholes.

(220 posts)Nothing is ever their fault. Don't worry, no one will ever have a guilt trip over there. More's the pity.
