Donetsk leaflet: Jews must register or face deportation

Here's a few excerpts from the article.

A leaflet distributed in Donetsk, Ukraine calling for all Jews over 16 years old to register as Jews marred the Jewish community's Passover festivities Monday (Passover eve), replacing them with feelings of concern.

"Dear Ukraine citizens of Jewish nationality," the flyer began, "due to the fact that the leaders of the Jewish community of Ukraine supported Bendery Junta," a reference to Stepan Bandera, the leader of the Ukrainian nationalist movement which fought for Ukrainian independence at the end of World War II, "and oppose the pro-Slavic People's Republic of Donetsk, (the interim government) has decided that all citizens of Jewish descent, over 16 years of age and residing within the republic's territory are required to report to the Commissioner for Nationalities in the Donetsk Regional Administration building and register."

The leaflet detailed what type of documents the Jewish citizens would need to supply: "ID and passport are required to register your Jewish religion, religious documents of family members, as well as documents establishing the rights to all real estate property that belongs to you, including vehicles."

According to Alex Tenzer, a Kiev native and one of the directors of the National Association of Immigrants from the Former USSR in Israel, said: "The Jewish-Ukrainian leadership supports Ukraine's new government, but it's hard to tell whether the leaflet is valid or simply a provocation.

People mocking those who are actually concerned, blaming Israel, and the list goes on. What I find "amusing" are those that think an act against Jews would suddenly get the US or NATO to start marching in on the region.

But this is an example of the reality and pervasiveness of anti-semitism.

It demonstrates a nasty attitude, itself anti-Semitic IMO, in ignoring the problems of anti-Semitism. I see it in regards to racism, sexism, and homophobia, but the big difference is when it occurs in a liberal setting it is usually confronted, loudly and forcefully. Anti-Semitism is so much more than calling a Jew a "kike" or "Heeb" or claiming we all "run the (insert nation) government". It is amazing how many people aren't aware of some of the most basic anti-Semitic claims.

Reeks of a false flag operations.

But neither side is exactly known for loving my tribe. Both are just using Jewish people (and the Shoa) as tools.

Make aliyah now, folks. I'm an old fart and may do it myself.

I don't like everything Israel does, and I'm not the biggest fan of large-scale tribalism, but Israel is currently the best "fail safe" for Jews who have the means to go there.
