an orthodox Jewish rabbi would have approved of this decision, I'm sure. Fundamentalism is always a problem.

it doesn't make any difference what the religion, it seems... or secularism, even. Where fundamentalism raises it's head, it's a danger to anyone and everyone around... but especially to women.

There are certain small sects that have rigid gender roles.

They have an outsized influence in some spheres in Israeli society.

His wife was smarter than him. Not as wise tho. His granddaughter walked into a room and took it over. When he was dying younger Rabbis gathered around him to hear his wise words.

Yes some Orthodox Rabbis are women hating. Definitely not all.

So glad I had the honor of being his nurse.
