Thanks for posting ! We are having scattered thunderstorms all week, ClearDarkSky.com predicts poor transparency tonight, maybe better tomorrow.

Looks like we might be able to spot Venus and Mercury for a little while longer. http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/mrst.php

I'm sure they have it for Android phones, etc.

SkyView Free uses your phone GPS and camera and shows you where all the planets and constellations and major stars are, day and night, clouds or not, you will love it!

One night we had Mars and Saturn and Jupiter up in the sky and it was SO COOL to be able to confirm which bright dots were which, and to see the constellations is just bonus.

I have a dumb phone, and a pretty 'smart' camera, Samsung Galaxy, and a 'simple' hp laptop, so will see what I can see. Not much outside tonight, cloudy and thunderstorms.

But if you've never downloaded an app you might just wait for a youngster to help you.

That's what I did when I first got a fancy phone!
