Related: About this forumMarch for Science being held this Saturday.
Scientists from around the country will be converging on Washington DC to protest the attacks on science by our "government," and other protofacists around the world.
Local satellite protests will be held.
I plan to attend the NJ March: NJ March for Science
The motto of the marches is "Science, not Silence."
All who deplore attacks on science should try to attend.

This is the official Earth Day Celebration for 2017.
We're protesting the conservative efforts to modify or delete the data that points to climate change. (In that respect it's also political.) There will be speakers before the march of about 2 miles in Oakland.

ACS announces its support for the March for Science
I'm going to my local section meeting tonight, to hear speakers on a topic that is very much an environmental issue, acid drainage from historic mines.
Mostly my section - and I like everyone there very much - is old white people; a demographic into which I personally fit.
I have never discussed politics with anyone there; it's all science. But it will be interesting to hear if the topic is brought up during the announcements.
