...when God raptures the saved, only the sinners will be left on Earth to suffer. And we all know who the sinners are. Musicians. Gays. Gay musicians. The entire 1997 Denver Broncos. And all of Hollywood...We talked about the "Left Behind" movies this week. And here's an antidote to that crap...
Pretty soon, you get used to the rains of blood. And the plagues of locusts. And the fiery rocks falling out of the sky...
I just watched this super-cheap 2013 indy flick and I'm still LMAO.
Don't want to give too much away. I'll just say that we atheists see a lot of our suspicions confirmed. Ha!
"Rapture-Palooza" is chock-full of profanity and cheap sex jokes. Starring Craig Robinson as The Anti-Christ and Ken Jeong as God, which should be enough warning for you.
And beware the IMdB reviews. Xians were outraged by this flick and many of them downvoted it. Usually to a "1" out of 10, it seems.

(19,964 posts)Unfortunately, I don't think I'll get my wish. I'm thinking a lot of fundies harbor a secret fear that they won't see it, either. After all, it's been 2000 years and despite all the prophecies, signs of the "end times", books, movies et al, it looks as if the Messiah just stood them up. I mean, if you were the Messiah would you really look forward to the date from hell? Mebbe that's why the "left behind" crowd is feeling a little desperate and persecuted these days.

(7,753 posts)I still have to finish the last Left Behind movie, but I'll throw this in on Saturday. I could always use a good laugh.

That didn't exactly work out as planned. Ha! (Saying no more because I don't want to give it away...)
Glad you liked it!
Another one you might enjoy with Ken Jeong - "Pain & Gain." Based on a true story about a very bizarre kidnapping/murder case in Florida. One of the criminals is a recently paroled prisoner and convert to "Team Jesus" (complete with the T-shirts and bumper stickers). At least until he converts back to Team Cocaine. Ken Jeong plays a very annoying motivational speaker.
