that could easily have been a picture of me.

That's just about how I left the church. I was enough of a rebel that if I hadn't left, the nuns would have thrown me out.

My mother did get kicked out of a convent school, so I came by it honestly.

I'm reminded of an anecdote regarding Alfred Hitchcock. Apparently he was being driven around in his Rolls one day and spotted a priest talking to a little boy.

"That's the most frightening thing I've ever seen", Hitchcock said to his driver and instructed him to stop the car. Hitchcock then rolled down the window and shouted: "Run! Run away, little boy!"
