Pope Francis offered "affection and prayers" to those affected by the Norman Atlantic ferry fire

1 dead as hundreds await rescue on burning ferry

http://edition.cnn.com/2014/12/28/world/europe/italy-greece-ferry-fire/

What else has he got?

What? This guy who rules over the minds and hearts of about a billion of the 7 billion people all over the world doesn't have a navy or more than one or two helicopters to help out?

What's he got? "affection and prayers"!

That will do it.

I wonder if this thread will be reported as "disrespectful" to those with "sincerely-held" religious affiliations or beliefs.

We shall see.

But really, what do these religious leaders have to offer humankind when they are literally burning to death on a sinking ferry? "affection and prayers"

that I never considered. Why doesn't Vatican City have at least a minimal number of rescue vehicles/helicopters/etc. to actually DO something when there is need in the world? Instead, all the other countries of the world send help or money, and they send prayers. And we all know the saying about prayers (well, at least my father always said this)---pray in one hand, crap in the other, and see which one fills up faster.

banked the millions she was given, rather than use it to ease the suffering of the poor and hungry. Anyone can spend money, only saints can work miracles through prayer. Besides, if Jesus wants people to die in agony so that they get to Heaven, who are we to interfere?

He just offered them.

I guess they have to except first. Formally? With an engraved card?

You know he drives an old car? Himself?

He doesn't even have ninja bodyguards.

And he doesn't judge anybody, he just does what the Bible says. He doesn't make the rules. Not his fault.

If he ONLY has two helicopters and one yacht, and no private airline, what good is he?
Not his fault, right... the Bible... the Catholic one, is to blame, this Pope can only conform to the Bible, the Catholic one, which never says anything about abortion, or gay people, but the Pope knows best, you must agree, AmIright?

Mind you, he does have his own independent state - every absolute dictator should have one of those.
