Does this woman scare the shit out of you? Holy crap, I am in awe of the way some peoples' minds work.

"I don't care if they have never committed a crime, atheists are the reason crime is rampant." Um, really? Proof? Seems to me that a lot more Christians are linked to crimes than atheists. But what would this woman know---I am sure that she doesn't know any atheists, or doesn't know that she knows any.

Give me a fucking break!

My question: if the word "atheist" were replaced with "African American", "gay" or "Jew", would the paper have even published the letter? And if not, what makes atheists so different that someone can spew obvious hate about us?

The only group you could substitute for "atheist" in this letter and still get it published would be "illegal aliens"~~within the context of "git outta mah country!1!".

I find it unsettling and maddening.
