Dorian to be major hurricane before potential Florida landfall, forecast says

Dorian is now exceptionally well-formed and is expected to be a major hurricane as it approaches Florida, according to the National Hurricane Centers 11 p.m. update.
Landfall on Sunday or Labor Day as a Category 3 is increasingly likely, forecasters say. But it is difficult to say where Dorian will strike, therefore all of Florida is in the cone...

As Dorian leaves the Caribbean Sea and travels into the deeper, warmer waters of the Atlantic Ocean, it is expected to absorb energy and intensify.
Factors that can help the hurricane to intensify include very warm ocean waters, little wind shear, not much dry air, and open sea between its current location and Florida.
Plan for a Category 3 but its always healthy to plan for one up just in case, Ken Graham, director of the Miami-based National Hurricane Center, said Wednesday.
