One of the students in a met class I had way back when was actually FROM Beirut, and experienced the 1968 hailstorm first-hand. He was young when it happened, but everyone was spellbound as he talked for about 15 minutes running about his experiences. The prof just let him talk. Great storyteller. It was wonderful.
