(9,930 posts)Look closely at your top picture. Faint Jupiter up and to the right of Venus.
Naturally, I woke up early this morning. So, I got this with the coolpix P150 (cuz it does everything without changing lenses) and it was already on the tripod.
Zooming in (1000mm equivalent) Jupiter has two of its moons barely visible. (increased contrast and cropped)
So, here's a "1000mm" shot of the same fire lookout (since the air was so clear yesterday). About 5 miles.
The giant tower is new, and no doubt, microwave dishes will show up over time.
I really appreciate these.
Mine is Coolpix P900, and no tripod; through bedroom window. and I can see faint Jupiter!

(9,930 posts)When I bought my place, a sliding front window pane was missing a screen.
I bought a kit to make up a screen, but it's so handy to just open the window and get a clear shot of the mountains.
Kit remains unassembled still. It's too good a deal, especially in winter.
Your camera claims to have even better vibration reduction, but a tripod really helps.
Thrift stores have many, some unopened.

(131,290 posts)No surface to set up tripod, either @ bedroom window OR in most places where I shoot.
Went out (a couple of times,) so got a variety of pics today, NOT sky; check 'Birders' in a bit.
