I just can't stand the humidity, the chicken farms, the lack of any mountains and real lakes. And especially the encroachment of all of those D.C. people with too much tax-payer money (lobbyists/etc.)

But I love your photos!!! And your heads-up on WETA playlists that I can get up heah in the Green Mountains.

it's southern MD, 60 miles south of DC, 80 miles south of Baltimore, just WEST of the Bay, and this pic, @ my house, is just west of Patuxent River! Few if any chicken farms here, but there may be some I haven't seen!

Eastern Shore of Maryland lies mostly on the east side of the Chesapeake Bay.

in your photo! I have many fond memories of summers spent swimming, fishing and crabbing in the river and biking on the then unpaved roads at Golden Beach, where my family had a getaway cottage. I took a tour of Golden Beach on Google Street a few years ago and other than the two public beaches, nothing was recognizable--except for our concrete-block cottage, hand-built by my parents, which looked much as it did in 1970 when we sold the property.

Thanks, elleng, for your photos from Southern Maryland!

and glad you've been around here.

There's actually a little beach @ foot of a hill, just below my house; friends swim and fish there. I haven't done so (yet!) I rent a small, OLD house, which looks, I suspect, similar to how it looked when built, 100+ years ago; some good OLD trees here too!
