Rest in Peace Grandma.

My Grandma departed this life today. A couple of my aunts went up to visit her at the nursing home today and said she was doing well. Grandma apparently drifted off to sleep and passed away around 4:30pm today.

She passed gently and that is such a blessing.

Losing a parent is never ever easy.
It doesn't seem like the world will ever be right again does it? Many of us here have suffered the loss of our Mums and Dads and we're here to lend an ear offer as many hugs as you'd like.

please take care of yourself.

And now that you mentioned it...the world really, won't ever be the same.

From the second she came into our home, it was busy, busy, busy.

I just now jumped up (8:30P Pacific) thinking, I've got to get Mom's pills...oh.

I had one small piece of comfort today...we met with a mortuary, to get her beautiful again and begin her journey to join my Dad in Oregon. Within 2 hours of the meeting, the rep called and they had gotten Mom out of the hospital morgue...so, now she is about 5 minutes from the house.

Mom...you almost got home.

10. When my Mum died I was actually working at a funeral home and got permission

from the facility where we had her arrangements done, to look after her for presentation.

My Dad didn't want an open casket, he didn't want to remember her as being so ill.
Once I prepared her, did her hair, make-up , dressed her, I had my Dad take one final look to ease his heart a bit.
He looked at her lovingly, asked that the casket be left open for all to see his beautiful wife.
He thanked me for giving him a gift of a sweet memory.

Funerals are so so important for some people. Viewing even more so. My Dad was able to remember my Mum looking at peace, dressed the way she would want to be dressed.

I will be thinking of you as you journey down this emotional road. May you be blessed with joy filled memories that cleanse your hearts with happy tears.
