We think it was the Anime influence. She was conjugating Japanese verbs at 12. Kept a notebook with all the figures. She also sang in Japanese. She paints Japanese characters from comics beautifully. She even made her own anime costume at 13, to wear to the annual convention in Boston a few years ago. Her parents let her ride the Amtrak from NY all by herself. I waited for her on the other side.

Today, she is a freshman in college with over 200,000 in scholarships. She has dyed her blonde hair a dark brown.
